Last night we had an awesome opportunity to have students, salon owners, and educators all in one house!
Randy Kunkel (co-founder of Summitt Salon Business College) spoke candidly about salon business trends, growing salon teams, and employee/guest retention, among many other topics.
Twelve salons were in attendance; Marc Daniel Salon, Christopher J. Salon, Pazzaz Salon, Inner Sanctum, Snips, Jungle Red, Hair For All Seasons, Hair Expressions, The Look, Artisan Salon, Classic Reflections, and Hair and Body Works.
The night was packed with information for people of all stages in their career. Salon owners left with more insight on hiring the right people, growing service providers, and more effective communication with new talent in their salons.
PCI students were inspired about their future in the beauty industry and made some connections with potential salon employers.
Stef O. a student graduating in 2 days was reflecting on the evening with and educator, and shared the insight that she gained. Some of the things that she shared were that her hope for a bright future in the beauty industry was restored. She also was exicted to hear that salon owners are willing to invest time and money in her future given the opportunity.
From us at PCI Academy, it was so cool to see salon owners show interest in our students, staff, and our school. We are exicted to work together to continue to grow salon professionals in this industry.
Overall it was great night for everybody there!

Coach of the Month! Goes to Sara Larsen!
Congrats! Sara Larsen for PCI Academy's Coach of the Month.
Sara leads the Blue Team at PCI Academy. The blue team was Team of the Month. They had an average of 53% Repeat Requests! Wow!
Sara shared that the blue team has been focusing on growing their guest count! They averaged over 40 guests each.
The blue team has great team synergy and they are always checking in with each other and helping each other out to stay focused on their team goal!

Leanna Voted Above & Beyond/Best Team Mate for July
Each month at PCI Academy, formerly The Salon Professional Academy in New Hope, the students vote a staff member who they think goes above and beyond for them. They voted Leanna Longley, she is part of PCI Academy's support team, Leanna has been apart of PCI Academy for 2 years.
The students appreciate her hard work, her continued support of helping them achieve their goals, and her encouragement. Our guests that recieve services appreciate Leanna's help and contagious smile! Leanna helps our guests by recommending the right products, the right services, and setting up their next appointment.
Leanna was also named our Best Team Mate of the Month, which is voted by our staff. They said that she is so helpful, dependable, and has excellent customer service. Leanna also teaches our students customer service skills, front desk training, and follow up calls.
When we asked Leanna what she thought, she said that she really enjoys being the students cheerleader and helping them achieve their goals while they are in school. She really enjoys working with our staff and helping take care of our guests and giving them a great expierence.
